Which Colorado original makes your taste buds happy?
Anyone who has spent even a couple of minutes with me knows that my adult beverage of choice is a Coors Light. It’s low maintenance, I can find it virtually everywhere, and it makes me happy. However, in my effort to branch out a bit (and to impress my friends), I decided to expand my horizons and check out some of the great new breweries that are popping up in the Denver Tech Center. Here are a few to try:
Peak View Brewing Co

Peak View opened its doors about 6 months ago just off I-25 and Arapahoe Road. It’s an unassuming location, but once you step inside you will be greeted by friendly staff, a laid-back atmosphere and several tasty brews. The DTC has been longing for a place like this.
Some other highlights:
- Dogs are welcome outside and IN
- You can bring your own food, or sample the food trucks that come by
- Offer several events through the week including trivia, karaoke, and live music.
Recommendation: Try the Peanut Butter Porter…you won’t be sad!
Resolute Brewing Co

Resolute Brewing offers you a beautiful space, sunny patio, and tons of beers to choose from. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and will guide you through your beer selection. There are some board games and puzzles to entertain you if needed, but there’s plenty happening at Resolute!
Some other highlights:
- Resolute is dog-friendly and also has food trucks throughout the week
- There’s a regular tap list as well as rotating brews, so be sure to try a flight and taste several
Recommendation: Try the Imperial Pale Ale.
Halfpenny Brewing Company

If you’re looking for a location slightly further west, check out Halfpenny Brewing off Arapahoe Road and Holly. With an awesome beer garden out back, Halfpenny is a large, clean space with a pub vibe. Food trucks are around a few days a week, but there are multiple dining options in the shopping center, so get what you like and bring it in.
Some other highlights:
- In addition to your standard pub tables and chairs, there’s a cozier section with couches for lounging
- Halfpenny has a large projector for game days, dart boards
- Don’t miss open mic nights on Tuesdays
Recommendation: Stop in on a Friday afternoon…there’s a new beer each week.
3 Freaks Brewery

For those needing a more southern location, check out 3 Freaks Brewery just off County Line and Quebec. Relaxed, dog-friendly brewery with a great patio. The “beertenders” are very knowledgeable and will be happy to give you a sample of the beer before you make your choice.
Some other highlights:
- Named after the owner’s 3 kids
- 3 Freaks welcomes families
- Located in a great neighborhood offering unique beers, live entertainment and food trucks throughout the week
Recommendation: Try the Marsha Marsha Amber (even if just for the name)!
